Our Kodiak Island fishing lodge is the starting point for an incredible day on the water. After boarding our catamaran, a short ride takes your group to one of the many secluded fishing spots around the island.
The best halibut fishing in Alaska is right here in Larsen Bay. They come in a range of sizes, normally a good 20 to 60 pounds, but trophy Halibut are out there as well. We do much of our Halibut targeting from close by, but you can also head to deeper water for a longer run.
Salmon fishing in Kodiak gives anglers a variety of options during the year. In May, Chinook salmon hang around the beaches, and are ready to fight. June brings Pink salmon, whose large numbers draw the Kodiak bears and make for a lively day of catching. In August, we do plenty of ocean fishing for Coho, as they return to the grounds in huge numbers. Going into fall, Steelhead make their way back to us for fly fishing in the lakes around the bay.
In addition to our world class halibut and salmon fishing, Kodiak Island is home to incredible wildlife, including Grizzly bear, which can be seen on private excursions to nearby parks and refuges.
Our lodge has all of the luxurious features that will make your Alaska fishing trip truly remarkable. When you arrive via float plane, the lodge is ready to welcome you and your group with traditional touches. From the high level of guest attention down to the cedar construction, Kodiak Island Resort has embraced luxury as the foundation for the entire guest experience.
